What is Whatsapp Web API

CommsGrid WhatsApp Web connects a supported WhatsApp account through a QR-linked session. After an eligible plan is active and the session is connected, the dashboard can provide supported inbox, contact, and messaging workflows. Availability depends on the linked session and applicable platform rules.

This differs from the WhatsApp Cloud API, Meta’s separate business messaging platform. Cloud API setup, supported features, and charges are governed by Meta’s current requirements. Choose the connection method that matches your account, operational needs, and platform requirements.

Before connecting

Check that your CommsGrid plan includes WhatsApp Web, create a platform in your workspace, and follow the current connection instructions shown there. Keep the phone and linked session available while connecting. If the connection status does not update, refresh the platform status or contact support.
